    Tens of thousands of industry professionals rely on AHIP to provide first-class advocacy, education, and information on our changing health care system. In this session, you’ll hear from AHIP’s new Public Affairs leader on our educational and grassroots initiatives for consumers and health care stakeholders to stay informed and engaged on the latest developments affecting various issues and health care coverage options.

    Building an Equitable Health Landscape

    In this session, we'll explore the current state and future of equitable, quality care, drawing insights from AHIP's 2024 Industry Impact Strategy Survey and our own health equity journey. We'll discuss key developments including the establishment of the Health Equity Leadership Committee, the importance of demographic data standards, and the development of an industry-wide health equity impact strategy. Attendees will gain valuable insights into 2025 projections and leave with a critical understanding of health plans’ pivotal role in advancing health equity, and how their actions serve as the building blocks of creating and sustaining a more equitable health care system for all.

    Prior Authorization: Reducing Low-Value, Inappropriate Services & Improving Health Care Affordability

    Prior authorization helps ensure that patients receive safe, evidence-based care, and that coverage is as affordable as possible. While health plans are working to further simplify and improve prior authorization, some provider-driven advocacy groups and others are lobbying to restrict or eliminate the use of this vital process. Explore current and emerging trends, challenges and opportunities related to state legislative efforts, and brainstorm effective strategies and proactive approaches to protecting this critical but much-maligned tool to reduce low-value and inappropriate services and improve health care affordability.
