Medicaid is the largest health care program in the country, covering approximately 1 in 5 Americans. Health insurance providers are committed to ensuring that Medicaid is effective, affordable, and accountable. Medicaid is the largest health care program in the country, covering about 1 in 5 Americans – that’s 82.3 million low-income Americans, including millions of children, older adults, people with disabilities, and 2 million veterans.
