CVS Health President and CEO Karen Lynch Elected to AHIP Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (June 10, 2021) – AHIP announced today the election of Karen S. Lynch, President and CEO of CVS Health, to its Board of Directors. Ms. Lynch’s election was effective June 4, 2021 and she joins other nationally recognized health care leaders serving on AHIP’s Board (found here).

“AHIP’s Board of Directors represents a diverse group with a common commitment—improving access to high-quality, affordable health coverage,” said Matt Eyles, AHIP president and CEO. “Karen is a true health care leader and a strong addition to our Board. She will help our industry continue to deliver innovative health solutions to the millions of Americans we serve.”

Karen has over three decades of experience in health care. Prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer, she was Executive Vice President, CVS Health and President of Aetna and responsible for driving the strategy to deliver consumer-focused, high-value health care to the millions of people Aetna serves.

Under Karen’s leadership, CVS Health touches the lives of more than 100 million people each year through its unique combination of assets, including more than 9,900 pharmacies and over 1,000 MinuteClinic and HealthHUB locations. CVS Health also serves an estimated 34 million people through its health insurance products and services. CVS Health continues to play a leading role in the national response to COVID-19 through testing solutions and vaccine administration across the country.
