Acacia Reed is the Chief Operating Officer of L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest health plan in Los Angeles County, which serves more than one of every four Angelenos and is the country's largest publicly operated plan.
At the helm of L.A. Care's non-clinical operations, Acacia orchestrates services that resonate with the needs of members and providers alike. Her oversight extends to the Member and Provider Call Center, Enrollment and Member Advocacy, Claims, Payment Integrity, and Advanced Analytics. Her strategic acumen is evident in her role as the architect of enterprise-wide change programs, pivotal in driving continuous improvements, fostering innovation, and accelerating advancement.
Acacia's journey with L.A. Care began in 2016 as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, a role that was preceded by her tenure at AmeriHealth Caritas. There, she held positions such as the Director of Organizational Governance and the Director of Enterprise Regulatory Affairs, where she championed operational transformation and compliance excellence across various markets.
A staunch advocate for community health, Acacia has contributed her expertise as a board member for Young and Healthy Pasadena, an organization committed to protecting and improving the physical and mental health of uninsured and underinsured children and their families in the greater Pasadena area. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Southern California, where Acacia continues to inspire future leaders through guest lectures on leadership and managed health care, sharing her insights and experiences with the leaders of tomorrow.
