Amit Shah, MD
Chief Medical Officer, CareOregon
Dr. Shah is currently Chief Medical Officer at CareOregon. In his current role he has responsibility for population health, quality assurance/ improvement, healthcare informatics, behavioral health, dental, benefit/ utilization management, pharmacy, and CareOregon’s home-based, palliative, and hospice provider, HouseCall Providers. He previously served as Senior Medical Director of Network Services at Care Oregon specifically working on clinical informatics and clinical system redesign. Previously, he was the Medical Director of Multnomah County Health Department.
Dr. Shah received his medical training at the Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed a Family Medicine residency at the Northern New Mexico Family Practice Program and is certified in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He attended the University of Rochester where he received his undergraduate degree in Molecular Genetics.
He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and received his Oregon State Medical License in June 2000. Dr. Shah has also been a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians since 1994. He also serves on various Oregon state advisory committees and is currently on the board for Fora Health (one of the largest SUD providers in Portland). He is a member of the Advisory Board since 4/2022.
