Cheryl Parquet
Director, Community Engagement, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC)
Cheryl Parquet is the Director of Community Engagement at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC), the state’s largest health insurer. She is responsible for the development and implementation of all corporate-based philanthropic initiatives including community investments, employee volunteerism, and strategic partnerships to help improve the health and wellness of North Carolinians.
Parquet was appointed to serve on the Commission for Volunteerism and Community Service by Governor Cooper. She is an active board member for Durham Children's Initiative, Girls Scouts of Coastal Pines NC, Leadership North Carolina, Leadership Triangle, UNC Board of Visitors, Institute of Emerging Issues, and Durham Sports Commission. Parquet is a Goodmon Fellow and a graduate of Leadership North Carolina Class of XXVI. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc Durham Alumnae Chapter and The Durham Rotary Club.
Parquet earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Corporate Social Responsibility from Duke University and a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with various non-profits in the community, spending time with her family and cheering on the Tar Heels.
