Karen L. van Caulil, PhD
President & CEO, Florida Alliance for Healthcare Value
Karen van Caulil, PhD has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Florida Alliance for Healthcare Value since 2011. The Florida Alliance is a 501c3 research and education organization that includes in its membership 80 public and private sector employers/healthcare purchasers. The organization has been focused on improving healthcare quality and affordability since 1984. Karen is also the Executive Director of Floridians for Accountability in Health Care, a 501c4 policy and advocacy organization.
Karen serves on numerous national and state boards and advisory committees including the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors for the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, The Leapfrog Group Board of Directors, and the State of Florida’s Consumer Health Information and Policy Advisory Council as Chairperson. Under her leadership, the Florida Alliance has received the National Alliance Member Leadership Award for their work in alternative payment models and PBMI’s Excellence Award for Care Management Strategies.
