Associate Executive Director, Virtual Medicine, Technology, Innovation, & Research, The Permanente Medical Group

In her role as associate executive director with The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG), Dr. Kristine Lee oversees virtual and desktop medicine across primary care and all specialties, as well as technology, innovation, and research. As part of this portfolio, she is responsible for the Appointment and Advice Call Centers, TPMG Consulting Services, and the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research, one of the nation's largest research facilities outside a government or university setting.

Dr. Lee's primary focus is to use technology to enhance and support the management of patient chronic conditions and the physician in-basket. She sees virtual health as an adjunct to traditional care that can help educate and engage patients in their own care and enhance remote monitoring capabilities. Her role also centers on operationalizing augmented intelligences and digital health technology tools.

Dr. Lee joined TPMG at the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center in 2008. Throughout her career, she has held numerous leadership positions with TPMG.

Dr. Lee received her Bachelor of Science in biology and zoology from University of Idaho and her medical degree from University of Hawaii. She completed her internal medicine residency at KP San Francisco. Dr. Lee also participated in the TPMG Emerging Leaders program and the Executive Leadership program at the Harvard School of Business.
