Sarah Summer

Sarah Summer is the Head of Health Plan Sales for Fitbit Health Solutions (FHS). In her role at Fitbit Health Solutions (FHS), Sarah Summer is responsible for strategic partnerships with health plans to improve health outcomes, increase member engagement and retention, and lower healthcare costs. Prior to joining FHS, Sarah was Chief Executive Officer for California Medical Association’s Physician Services Organization, providing tools and services to over 1,500 independent physicians in California. Sarah previously acted as Senior Director for State Policy and Strategy and Associate General Counsel at Blue Shield of California, where she also led strategic projects including the creation and development of the statewide provider directory, Symphony. Before joining Blue Shield, Sarah served as a Deputy Director in the State Exchange Group at the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), where she oversaw the Affordable Care Act’s state-exchange establishment and approval. Sarah graduated from the dual degree program at Boston University where she received her JD and MPH. While at Boston University, Sarah completed externships at the FDA, Joslin Diabetes Center, and the World Health Organization working on drug and health information compliance and health and human rights issue.

In her spare time Sarah likes to travel, having been to 64 countries and 6 continents, and is an avid cyclist and recovering triathlete, after completing her first (and only!) Ironman in 2017.
