Tim Hill
Vice President, Client Engagement, American Institutes for Research (AIR)
Mr. Hill is Vice President for Client Engagement at the American Institutes for Research (AIR), where he provides leadership and strategic direction for AIR’s research across variety health related projects. Mr. Hill’s Medicaid-focused research at AIR includes: understanding the role of Medicaid policy on reducing racial disparities in maternal mortality and other maternal health outcomes; understanding and responding to inequities in access to, utilization, and quality of Medicaid home and community based services; understanding the scope and diversity of provider supplemental payments made by States; and, evaluating a variety of Medicaid 1115 demonstrations.
Prior to joining AIR, Mr. Hill was the senior career executive with policy and operational oversight of Medicaid and CHIP as the Deputy Director of the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) within CMS. Mr. Hill has also served in executive roles in other federal programs related to Medicaid and CHP, including Deputy Director for Policy at the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) and Deputy Director for the Center for Medicare (CM).
In 2007, Mr. Hill was awarded the Presidential Rank Award for outstanding service. Mr. Hill earned his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and his master’s degree from the University of Connecticut.
