Health plans play an essential role in battling the opioid epidemic in communities across our nation. In a recent letter to Gov. Chris Christie, America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) commended the establishment of the President’s Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis. The letter highlights examples of the leadership role that health plans are playing to combat the opioid crisis, and welcomes the opportunity to share health plans’ recommendations for additional potential solutions.
