About This Webinar
Depression and anxiety symptom prevalence, post-COVID, has remained stubbornly high, affecting around 1 in 3 adult members over the past year, according to the CDC. The results include rising care costs, and lowered productivity. In response, according to leading benefits consultants, large employer groups nationwide have put mental health and cost containment at the top of their health & benefits priority list (WTW, 2024). Against this backdrop, Product and Clinical leaders at leading health insurance plans seek new ways to transform their approach to Behavioral Health.
Yet despite investments in people, networks, and technologies, important gaps persist: gaps in access, gaps in care, and – importantly – gaps in member experience vs. expectations. This expectation gap begins with member preference, and the need for early activation. As many as 3 in 4 members with symptoms prefer to address them on their own vs. seeking care, however the evidence basis for self-care approaches can prove elusive to them. And care seeking often gets delayed by stigma, cost, and confusions. Those with symptoms frequently wait 8 to 11 years to seek treatment, a delay that drives both unnecessary suffering and excess cost, as acuity rises.
This webinar will utilize a panel-style discussion and storytelling methods to engage the audience. Multiple perspectives – consultant, payer, and vendor – will be explored to promote a dynamic and engaging interchange between speakers. National prevalence and survey data will be shared as a backdrop. Real-world rollout examples will be unpacked, and performance data – including member experience, engagement, and navigation to various care models will be shared, along with lessons learned and recommendations. Audience polling, as well as Q&A will be employed to ensure an engaging and valuable experience for audience members.
