About This Webinar
A ghost network is a provider network that appears robust and full of available providers, but actually contains bad data and thus, much more limited availability and unreachable providers. These “ghosts” are no longer practicing, not accepting new patients, are not in-network, or have errors in their contact information.
A Yale Law & Policy Review completed in 2021 titled, “Laying Ghost Networks to Rest: Combatting Deceptive Health Plan Provider Directories” declared “…these directories are deeply flawed.”
Lawmakers are starting to take note. Regulatory tailwinds have amplified directory accuracy attention over the past year, with significant efforts—across both state and federal branches—to eradicate ghost networks and require accurate provider directories.
Join us as we walk through the current health care provider directory regulatory climate and proposed federal and state legislation focused on eradicating ghost networks. Veda will lead a discussion on policy topics such as the bipartisan REAL Health Providers Act, House bill H.R. 7708, and proposed legislation from individual states.
With a front-row seat to legislative happenings, Veda is uniquely positioned to share insights and perspectives on these timely topics.
